Students Support

SMCCI Scholarship

Inline with the objective of St. Mary's Charitable Trust, promoters of SMCCI, students enrolled for Under Graduate Program (B.Com) will be eligible for Scholarship subject to meeting certain eligibility criteria in their School level academics and general performance. The Board of Trustees has decided to set aside a corpus of Rs.2 lakhs for Scholarship for students enrolling for B.Com in 2017. Application for Scholarship will be accepted from 03 April 2017 in College Office. Please contact College Office for Details.

Anti-Ragging Cell

As per UGC Regulations on the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions 2009 and Govt. order no.ED/HE-301/2008/120 dtd. 22/04/2009, ragging in all its forms is totally banned in SMCCI on campus as well as outside where SMCCI Students are present. Any behavior or act that comes under the definition of ragging will invite serious censures as deemed fit by the College authority. Ragging is defined as “any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activity which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the student to do any act or perform something which such student will not in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student.” Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence, as established by the Anti–Ragging Committee of SMCCI, anyone found guilty shall receive any one or more of the following disciplinary actions. The decision of the Anti-Ragging Committee shall be final and binding.

  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Suspension from the college.
  • Withholding/withdrawing scholarship or other benefits.
  • Debarring from appearing in any test/ examination or other evaluation process.
  • Withholding results.
  • Debarring from representing SMCCI in any regional, national, or international event.
  • Rustication from the College for a period up to 4 semesters/2 years.
  • Dismissal from the College and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution.
  • Fine of Rs. 25,000/-

In the case of offences of a very grievous or criminal nature, referring the case to the police, besides enforcing one or more of other disciplinary actions mentioned above.

Collective punishment when the offence is committed/abetted collectively by a group making it difficult or impossible to identify specifically guilty persons. It is mandatory, as per the Hon. Supreme Court & UGC/AICTE Regulations, that all students fill in and submit online an Anti-Ragging Affidavit, every year.

 Affidavits can be filled online can be filled at www.amanmovement.org (OR) www.antiragging.in. So, log on to one of the above websites and submit the online affidavit, print out a copy and submit it to the College Office.

Health Promotion Cell

SMCCI provides for periodic medical consultation on campus in association with the reputed Health Care providers. A team of health professionals are made available occasionally on campus for students to discuss their health related issues and seek help. Besides the onsite medical consultation, periodic seminars on health-related matters as well as Health Bulletins over the notice board will be arranged.

Grievance Redressal Cell

In order to provide for a forum for the staff and the students to express and inform their concerns and genuine grievances, a Grievance RedressesCell has been constituted with a faculty member in charge of its function. As part of its function, a Suggestion Box is placed in the College Office. Those who may have genuine grievance may either approach the faculty member in person or drop a note in the Suggestion Box. The faculty-in-charge will discuss the matter with the Principal and do the best to address the grievance and provide solution. If the aggrieved party is not satisfied with this solution, he/she can appeal to the Director of SMCCI. The decision of the Director will be final and binding on all parties.

Transportation

For the convenience of students, college buses ply between nearby towns and SMCCI Campus on all working days of the college, at scheduled times in the morning and afternoon. Students wanting to avail of the facility must procure the Bus Pass paying the required transportation fees. They are to carry the Pass with them every time they travel and must produce the same on demand.

Counseling Center

Besides the faculty mentoring system, SMCCI also provides for a Counseling Cell staffed with a professional counselor. The Counseling Cell provides for the holistic development of the personality of the Students. It helps a student to address and resolve their personal, emotional, relational, and academic difficulties. The Cell also focuses on students who do not perform well in their examinations and tend towards absenteeism in class. Students are encouraged to make use of the services of the Counselor for their emotional wellbeing.

Mentoring Programe

Each student is assigned to a Faculty, who will act as their "friend, philosopher and guide". Students are encouraged to share their concerns, anxiety and aspirations with the Faculty in strict confidence. Faculty members are trained to handle the situation and will take necessary steps to ensure welfare of the students.
